Parents buy toys by imagining their child's face when it's opened. A toy on white tells them what's in the box; the same toy in the middle of play tells them it will be loved. The best listings show both, with the age range obvious at a glance.

Toy shoots are notoriously hard to run. Children have short attention spans and strict working hours, sets need to look like real playrooms, and every piece of a multi-part set has to be visible and accounted for.

What a toy photo has to get right

  • Play in progress

    A toy mid-play sells better than the same toy standing alone. Hands building, stacking or pretending show how it's used.

  • An obvious age

    Toddler floor play, school-age tabletop, older-kid challenges: the scene and the child's age should signal the age range in a second.

  • Bright, true colour

    Toys and their packaging are designed to be vivid. Colours must stay saturated and still match what's in the box.

  • A safe-looking scene

    No loose small parts near toddlers, no sharp edges, a calm setting. Parents notice what looks unsafe before anything else.

What a toy shoot takes without AI

  1. Packshots of every piece

    Each toy and every piece in a set is arranged and shot on white, with the count checked against the box.

  2. Child models

    Play scenes need child models, their guardians and the limits on working hours that come with them, plus many takes.

  3. Playroom sets

    Living rooms, playrooms and classrooms are built and dressed in the studio, then reset for each age range.

  4. Composites

    To save time, toys are often shot alone and placed into play scenes in retouching, which rarely looks natural.

FAQs

Toy photos that show real play without a child on set

Are the children in play scenes real?
No. They're cast with AI, so no real child is photographed, and each scene is checked for age-appropriate, safe-looking play.
Can every piece of a set be shown?
Yes. Construction sets, doll houses and multi-piece toys are shot with the pieces you list, checked against your photos and the box.
How is a toy shoot priced?
By the number of toys, the packshots and play scenes you need, and where you sell. We quote once we've seen the range.
