Catalog photography
Catalog photography is the systematic production of product imagery for a brand's full SKU catalog — typically combining packshots, ghost mannequin, on-model, and lifestyle shots.
Catalog photography is what every ecommerce brand has to solve. Hundreds or thousands of SKUs need consistent imagery for PDPs, marketplaces, and paid social. Doing this with traditional photography is slow and expensive.
Catalog photography traditionally uses a mix: packshot for listing main images, ghost mannequin or on-model for fit imagery, and lifestyle for ad creative. Each step usually means a separate shoot.
AI catalog tools consolidate the production into one platform — bulk upload, pick a model and background per SKU, get every image type out of a single workflow. The economic shift is meaningful: brands move from per-shoot costs to per-image costs.
