Packshot

A packshot is a clean, isolated photo of a product on a plain background — typically pure white — used for ecommerce listings and marketplace PDPs.

Packshot is the foundation of ecommerce product photography. The image shows the product on a pure white or neutral background with no props, no model, and no clutter. The product fills 85%+ of the frame.

Most marketplaces enforce packshot rules for main listing images. Amazon requires pure white. Myntra and Nykaa each have their own specifications. Failing to meet them causes listings to be rejected or de-prioritised.

AI tools can generate packshots from any input image — flat lay, mannequin, or even a busy lifestyle shot — by isolating the product and replacing the background with marketplace-compliant white.
