PDP (product detail page)
PDP is the product detail page on an ecommerce storefront — the page where a shopper sees full product imagery, description, price, and adds to cart. Catalog photography is mostly about producing PDP-ready imagery.
PDP is shorthand every ecommerce operator uses. It's the conversion page — where browsing turns into a buying decision. Image quality on a PDP correlates directly with conversion: better imagery, more carts.
Most brands ship a hero image, a ghost mannequin or on-model shot, a back view, a detail / close-up shot, and a lifestyle scene per PDP. The full set is 4-7 images per SKU.
AI catalog tools produce a full PDP image set from a single source upload. Across thousands of SKUs, the production saving is the entire reason brands adopt AI catalog workflows.
